“I had a large wardrobe of handbags and clutches. When one day I opened it and wondered which bag I was going to take, I told myself that there was something to do. All these bags that are sleeping in the cupboards because I often wear the same one, all these purchased leathers that don't have the opportunity to embellish my outfits... it is from this observation that the concept of La Stella was born”. Consume less and better, satisfy all the style desires and cover all the moments of the day of an active woman with a thousand and one lives... this is the mission of the designer Florence who launched her label at the end of 2017. Focus on La Stella or the flap bar that enhances all women and accompanies them at each new moment of their life.

A flap bar... what's that? Yes, you read that right!! Florence likes to innovate, think outside the box and come up with a truly innovative fashion concept. So in 2017, she launched her flap bar after 20 years in image consulting. A concept that seemed to come out of nowhere in the fashion world and yet is the result of careful thought. Her affection for bags goes back several years. As the head of an interior design boutique, she offers bags that she makes from leftover jeans and recycled leather. What caught her attention? Her customers. Whether in image consulting or in her interior design boutique, everything led her to launch her concept. The bag has always been a concern in the finishing touches to an outfit. It's well known: for every outfit, a bag will enhance it. It's this fashion questioning around the bag that tickles her creativity. She thought she needed a bag that would suit every outfit, every style, every moment of the day… She needed a bag with endless customizations to suit women’s desires and whims. An infinite number of flaps that could be adapted to the same base. If Florence got into fashion and design out of passion, she had the audacity to launch La Stella after realizing the success of her bags with her customers. Bags that are unlike any other, that neither seek to imitate nor be inspired by others, but are designed for women who, like her, juggle and live 1001 lives in 24 hours. Perfectly cut so as not to be too bulky but large enough to hold her essentials: the perfect bag according to Florence in short.

1 Day, 3 Universes…

Florence attaches great importance to talking about universes and not collections when she talks to us about her label. Universes of style, she specifies, which come to embrace the moods and moments of a woman's life. Florence is timeless in her creativity and timeless in her lines of bags. For her, trends, new products, collections, are all terms which come to reinforce the temporality of a fashion that is too fast and overconsumption. Fashion must be sustainable, that is to say word for word "last over time and accompany you more than a season... your whole life". Yes, from Tunisia to India, she draws inspiration from architecture, colors and lights… The contours of a door in the village of Sidi Bou Said inspire her to create a flap, one fabric catches her eye more than another. She feeds her eye from the outside world to inspire herself in abundance…

Her clients are the most beautiful muses. Each one has their own way of wearing this or that flap, and of combining this base with this layering... they can create their own style. That is the strength of the brand, they stand out on their own. Florence wants women to think for themselves.
